The Position:
At Synopsys, we believe that the low standards of quality, security, and predictability provided by traditional software development practices are unfortunate and unnecessary.
Our field application engineers educate customers on how they can proactively remove defects early in the development cycle by using Coverity Development Testing product, and lead customers through evaluations -- showing them how to improve software quality, security, and reduce the total time and cost required to produce high quality software. This is a traveling role based in the China; you will be supporting all renewals and inside/field sales representatives. This is an ideal role for someone wanting to move from support or engineering into a Field Application Engineer.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical sales support and being heavily involved in major sales process
Perform services like occasional testing, security audits, demo and training assignments for customers
Assess the robustness and security of computing systems using fuzz testing and other methods
Attend customer meetings and support sales representative in key account planning
Customize and integrate SIG products to customer software development life cycle
Develop and test automation, scripting and visualizations for existing customers
Assist with key customer installations
Give technical presentations
Technical skills:
Experience with as many network protocols as possible, ability to understand new protocols and specifications easily
Understanding and experience with networks architecture, firewalls, Internet routing
Experience with vulnerability assessment of systems, debugging of software crashes
Proficient in the use of Unix/Linux and Windows systems, preferably with some systems administration background
Proficiency with common scripting languages such as Python, TCL, and Javascript
Ability to use common network analysis tools: Wireshark, Nmap, tcpdump, nc.
Basic penetration testing skills, Metasploit, Nessus, etc.
Hands-on experience in configuring network equipment: routers, switches, VPN devices, VoIP systems, firewalls, proxies, server and client software
Other skills:
