The position (Objective): Design Release Engineer (DRE) – HV Battery specializes in the development, integration and maintenance of the data related to HV Battery system. DRE interfaces with internal and/or external suppliers while making sure that HV Battery developed according to the requirements, validated according to the automotive standards with functionality and updates maintained through the lifecycle of the product. DRE interfaces with other development teams in the engineering, manufacturing and project management departments to insure timely and high quality deliverables produced by the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for development and maintenance of HV Battery technical requirements
* Lead the overall design of HV battery pack according to the vehicle technology platform and general packaging
* Determine battery group solution based on characteristics of cells and vehicle requirement;
* Responsible for developing mechanical structure and layout of components for HV battery pack
* Responsible for defining HV battery validation requirements according to standards and best practices in automotive industry.
* Solve technical problems related to HV battery from product development, quality control, supplier management, manufacturing and other aspects.
* Interface with supplier and relevant teams within Qoros for HV battery integration
Required Knowledge & Skills:
* MS preferred in Automotive/Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
* 5+ years of experience in the development of traction battery for automotive applications
* In-depth understanding of automotive lithium battery chemistry and charateristics
* Proficient in CATIA or other related software, and have knowledge about structural design, strength analysis and thermal analysis
* Good written and communication skills in English
